Dear Ladies,
As you know, as of June 2010, I stepped down from the directorship of the Women’s Ministry. It has been wonderful serving you and the Bridgeway family. I am not leaving the church, but will be working in different capacities, as God leads, to continue building into the lives of women and the spiritual growth of the church (that’s you).
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To every thing, there is a season…,” and my season for directing the Women’s ministry is up; my purpose has been served. The next season is beginning and I’m excited to see it evolve.
I want to thank our Pastor and the leadership for allowing me to serve you in this capacity. Amber, my friend and first lady, thank you for the opportunity to serve beside you. It truly has been a pleasure.
Women’s ministry core leaders, it has been my delight to have you by my side. You have caused every dream for this ministry to become a reality. Continue in your calling and do not forget whom you serve: our Christ and His people. Do not become weary in well doing and do not faint or draw away; you shall reap a harvest of goodness in this life and life to come.
Lastly, thank you, women of Bridgeway, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting all our ministries, the Bible Breakfast Fellowships, retreats and conferences. Every program and event was planned to strengthen your faith and show you all God’s wonderful possibilities for your lives. Please continue to support these ministries. I believe that God has great things in store for the years to come. Again, women of Bridgeway thank you. I love you so very much.
As I leave this post, I have only one desire for you—that you continue being conformed into the image of Christ, growing in grace, and striving for spiritual maturity. As Christ-followers, we have graciously been granted newness of life and it is our duty to live by, through, and for Jesus Christ. Because of what Christ did for us, ladies, you have become the Father’s daughters and He desires an intimate relationship with you. Call on Him as your loving Daddy. He is waiting to hear your voice and your petitions.
Understanding and embracing the benefits of this Daddy-daughter relationship is imperative to victorious living. Daddies have authority. Our Daddy is affectionately in love with His daughters and desires our fellowship. When you understand just how much He loves you, you will want to obey Him and do those things that bring Him glory.
He loves you so much that He deposited His Holy Spirit in you. Holy Spirit, if welcomed into your lives, will guide you as you journey to spiritual maturity. I will also be around to help you along the way. It is for this purpose that I was assigned to this house and this work. I have been called to be one of the catalysts to help you mature spiritually and accomplish your Father’s Kingdom purposes in this world. So, I am not leaving. I’m just moving on from this post to continue doing the Father’s will in other areas.
The Lord gave me these scriptures in Isaiah 61 to hide in my heart, when He called me. I would like to share this with you before signing off.
1THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,
2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion--to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit--that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
4And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.
5Aliens shall stand [ready] and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6But you shall be called the priests of the Lord; people will speak of you as the ministers of our God. You shall eat the wealth of the nations, and the glory [once that of your captors] shall be yours.
7Instead of your [former] shame you shall have a twofold recompense; instead of dishonor and reproach [your people] shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double [what they had forfeited]; everlasting joy shall be theirs.
8For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong with violence or a burnt offering. And I will faithfully give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with them.
9And their offspring shall be known among the nations and their descendants among the peoples. All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge that they are the people whom the Lord has blessed.
